It can be used on fitted wall-to-wall carpet or on smooth flooring surfaces. In order to obtain maximum satisfaction and the best results with this please follow the installation procedures below: RUG on fitted wall-to-wall carpet: The black side will grip any textile floor covering (fitted carpet). High Performance Premium Rug Control adheres firmly to your rug and carpet and so helps to prevent slipping or falling over. Place the underlay black side down facing the carpet; then place the rug on top of the grey side. Cut about 1″-3″ smaller than the rug to be installed Remove the plastic release liner Place the black side down, facing the wall-to-wall carpeting Then place the rug on top of the grey side. High Performance Premium Rug Control adheres firmly to your rug and floor. Place the underlay grey side down; then place the rug on top of the black side. Cut about 1″-3″ smaller than the rug to be installed Remove the plastic release liner Place the grey side down, facing the smooth floor Then place the rug on top of the black side. Cutting: The High Performance underlay can be easily cut with scissors or a utility knife. Floor Preparation: Prior to installing the underlay, the floor should be vacuumed, clean and dry. Do not install the underlay on a wet floor. In order to obtain a long-lasting non-skid performance, avoid frequent removal and re-installation of the underlay from its designated installation area. CUTTING – The High Performance underlay can be easily cut with scissors or a utility knife. If several pieces of the underlay are necessary for one rug, simply apply as many pieces as needed, side-by-side. Taping or splicing is NOT necessary.
